Helping West Georgia’s Youngest Learners Start Strong!

At Success by 6, our mission is clear and powerful:
To ensure that every child in our community enters school healthy, confident, and ready to learn.

Backed by the support of United Way, we focus on children from birth to age six, especially those most at risk, providing programs and services that lay the foundation for success in school and in life.

We believe that every child deserves the chance to thrive — and it all starts with a strong beginning. Through community partnerships, parent support, early learning initiatives, and access to books and resources, we're changing the future one child at a time.

Because when kids start strong, they stay strong — and the entire community grows stronger with them.

At Success by 6, Everything We Do Has One Purpose: Giving Every Child the Best Start Possible.

Every program, partnership, and project we take on is driven by one or more of our core goals — each focused on building brighter futures for West Georgia’s youngest learners:

🌟Shining a Light on Early Learning:
We work to raise awareness about just how critical the early years are. When children start school ready to learn, they’re already on the path to lifelong success.

📚Lifting the Quality of Child Care Education:
We support childcare centers in delivering the highest quality learning experiences — because every child deserves a strong, supportive start, no matter where they are.

🏠Filling Homes with Books and Hearts with Stories:
We make sure children have access to books at home and encourage families to make reading together a daily habit. Because every page turned is a step forward.

👨‍👩‍👧 Empowering Parents as First Teachers:
Parents are a child’s first and most important teacher. We’re here to equip them with the tools, confidence, and support they need to help their children thrive.

At Success by 6, we’re not just preparing kids for kindergarten — we’re preparing them for life.

Inspire Young Minds – Become a Weekly Reader!

Imagine the joy of sparking a child’s love for reading and opening their eyes to a world of possibilities — all in just one hour a week!

Through our Weekly Reader program, caring volunteers from across the community step into early learning centers to read stories, spark imaginations, and plant the seeds of big dreams. But it’s more than just storytime — our readers also talk to children about their careers, giving kids a fun and inspiring look at what they could become one day.

From firefighters to florists, artists to accountants — every story, every visit helps kids dream bigger and believe in themselves. It’s a simple, powerful way to make a lasting impact.

Want to be part of the magic? Volunteer as a Weekly Reader today! Reach out to Gail Gordon at ggordonsb6@gmail.com to get started.

Because when you read to a child, you don’t just turn pages — you turn possibilities into reality.

All Aboard the Jungle Bus – Where Reading is a Wild Adventure!

In 2017, Success by 6 teamed up with the Troup County School System, the Rotary Club of LaGrange, and a host of amazing community partners to bring an extraordinary idea to life — and it’s been rolling strong ever since!

Forget what you know about traditional bookmobiles — this is no ordinary library on wheels. We transformed a vintage 1985 Blue Bird school bus into the one-of-a-kind Jungle Bus, where “Reading is an Adventure!” Instead of borrowing books, children (and grown-ups too!) get to choose a book to keep forever — building their own home libraries, one exciting story at a time.

the Jungle Bus travels across Troup County, making magical stops at Early Care and Learning Centers, schools, apartment complexes, community events — and anywhere else the reading adventure calls!

Kids light up when they see the brightly decorated Jungle Bus pull in. With over 18,000 books given away and counting, this mobile literacy movement is sparking imagination, inspiring young readers, and creating lifelong learners every mile of the journey.

The Jungle Bus isn’t just a vehicle — it’s a rolling celebration of reading, joy, and community. So, when you see it coming... get ready to climb aboard and dive into your next big adventure!

Welcome to the BOOK STOP!

When the world hit pause during COVID-19, something amazing started to happen — people began cleaning, decluttering, and rediscovering the joy of giving. That unexpected silver lining gave birth to something extraordinary: The BOOK STOP!

Soon, the community started asking, “Does the Jungle Bus take donations?” And when we said yes — the books started pouring in. We quickly ran out of storage and knew we needed a solution. So, we rolled up our sleeves, gathered shelves, organized the overflow, and created a new home for all those donated treasures: The BOOK STOP.

Now, it’s more than just a storage space — it’s a vibrant hub where teachers, volunteers, and anyone passionate about literacy can come browse, select, and share books across Troup County. Whether you're stocking a classroom, filling a Little Free Library, or just looking to spread the joy of reading, the BOOK STOP is here for you.

Stories bring us together — and now we have a place dedicated to making sure everyone has access to them.

Building Bright Futures, One Young Mind at a Time!

At Success by 6, we know that the first five years of a child’s life are nothing short of magical — and critical. That’s when 90% of brain development happens, laying the foundation for a lifetime of learning, growth, and success. That’s why we’re laser-focused on making those early years count!

By teaming up with dedicated community partners, we’re working to give every child in Troup County the strongest possible start. Our mission? To ensure that every child enters kindergarten healthy, confident, and ready to thrive.

And what better partner in that mission than Get Troup Reading — a powerful movement with a bold goal: every Troup County student reading on grade level by the end of third grade. Together, we’re creating a cradle-to-classroom pipeline of support, inspiration, and opportunity.

Because when we invest in early childhood, we don’t just change futures — we transform our entire community.

The Basics

The Basics is a brain development program designed to support early childhood learning by encouraging simple, everyday interactions between caregivers and young children.  By equipping parents, caregivers, and communities with practical tools and knowledge, The Basics aims to reduce developmental disparities and ensure all children start school with the skills they need to thrive.

Big Impact in a Little Library!

The Little Free Library movement is about more than just books — it’s about building connections, sparking imaginations, and opening doors to a world of stories! These charming, volunteer-led book exchange boxes are popping up all over Troup County, and they’re making a big difference — one book, one reader, and one neighborhood at a time.

At Success by 6, we’re proud to fuel this movement with our very own “Book Stop”, where volunteers can pick up free books to keep these Little Free Libraries stocked and thriving. Whether it’s a child discovering their first favorite book or a parent rediscovering the joy of reading, these tiny libraries are creating huge waves of literacy and community spirit across Troup County.

So if you’re a book lover, a community builder, or just someone who believes in the power of stories — grab some books from the Book Stop and help spread the joy of reading far and wide!
